Making your own furniture from pallets!

I am back!

I haven’t been writing in awhile, and I am getting a bit rusty but the good news is that I keep recycling and making furniture with pallets for friends and family. The last one, my cousin and I made together for his new home, he lives out of town about an hour from Medellin in a small town up the mountain called Guarne, the cool thing about this one in particular is that my cousin has a Xiaomi Yi and we made one of those time-lapse videos of us making, with very little tools, this 2 couches. The pallets were a little bit wet since it has been raining a lot lately up in Guarne so we didn’t sand them right away, we just made them and he had to wait until they were dry to sand them and varnish them.

So here’s the video!

You can see in the video we had to step out a couple of times to get stuff we needed to finish the project like different size screws, sand paper, lunch and the most important thing beers! ha ha!

You can make some awesome stuff!

Here’s some images of the ones I made myself for my apartment, I uploaded some images on my previous post but you couldn’t see the lights I added to them, it won’t take you but a trip to your local DIY or hardware store (here in Medellin, Colombia is called Homecenter) looks awesome at night.

I just made a table!

I’m back into my blog, i am starting to enjoy reading other people’s posts, practice my English and know other places and food over the world.

I made all of my furniture myself!!

Today I want to share this little project of mine, I made all of my living room furniture out of pallets, and I’ll be writing about the entire project soon, where to get the pallets here in Medellin, which tools you need to have, take some pictures of the entire process. However today I want to show you my table and the final product after hours of hard work.

This a picture of the painted table, I paint it myself too, was hard, is a surprisingly hard flag to paint, it’s not the England flag (for those of you that don’t know, the England flag is white with a red cross) this is the United Kingdom flag, AKA Union Jack.

Now this is the entire living room, me and Luiz on the balcony having some tea. I will get the entire blog about how to make this step by step and hopefully a video for all of you that live in Medellin or any where in the world.

Going out for Pizza!!

Okay, i just came back, i have been customizing this blog a little bit, not quite the expert yet but i’ll get there, but enough about that.

German Pizza in Medellin

Tonight is Pizza night in Medellin! It’s one of my friends last night in Medellin before she goes back to Germany, so we decided to go and get some Pizza. Now there’s several great options, like Zorba in Poblado, Olivia, Opera and All incontro in Laureles, but tonight the most appropriate option is Bigotes, which translates Mustaches, a German-owned pizza place which we (roommates) all love!

Now let me clarify is not a German trying to make Italian pizza, is a very unique place, is a rich, full of flavor, thick type of Pizza.

Bacon, yes Bacon!

The ones i prefer so far is Bigotes full of bacon (they do their own bacon, so is not the frozen stuff), cream cheese and my personal favorite Jalapenos!!! and the other one is Atlantico full of shrimps, green olives and cheese.

The only downside of this restaurant is the queue you have to go through on the weekends, even if you do the line, you still will have to eat it at home or out side in Carlos E Park. And that’s why we are going today! a Tuesday, is perfect, we can sit at a table and have some beers while they make some of the greatest Pizza in Medellin for us.

Image of the pizza on this post is not a Bigotes Pizza, just wanted to put some image 🙂
